LISA GREEN AND "CENTERS IN A BAG"
I have been teaching first grade at Algonquin School in Prospect, Connecticut for 21 years. I have always loved the idea of learning centers and use them daily in my classroom. It is my passion to make learning fun and meaningful for the children. Through my centers, children enjoy independent practice of the skills we learned during whole group instruction. I began my business over ten years ago by presenting workshops on literacy learning centers at my school and at the Nutmeg Reading Conference in Connecticut. Soon, towns from all over the state were asking me to come and give my make-and-take workshops. I also teach a graduate course on literacy learning centers at the University of Bridgeport. I continue to give unique workshops in Connecticut for which I make customized centers to current curriculums. I borrow the teacher's manuals and create centers that align with the programs used in each classroom. Teachers love the idea of leaving my workshops with completed centers that fit EXACTLY what they are teaching and can be implemented into the routine the very next day! Please email me for rates and availability if you are interested in a center workshop. I will need at least 3 months to prepare your custom inservice. I make my learning centers with appealing graphics that have been purchased from PCCrafter and ThistleGirl Designs. Due to copyright issues, most centers may not be downloadable. In these cases, I will process each center request and get your order out to you as soon as possible. My learning centers usually come with three components: A center sign with child-friendly directions, manipulatives, and a corresponding worksheet. All centers and pieces (except for paper worksheets) are laminated. In the future, I will begin taking on custom work. All you will need to do is give me the skill and grade level you would like a center created for. I will then be able to create the learning center of your choice. Keep checking back to see when this amazing opportunity will be offered.
TESTIMONIALS I have attended Lisa Green's Make-And-Take Centers Workshop and found her to be enthusiastic, talented, and passionate about the learning of children. Her centers are colorful and creative. I have found them to be thoroughly engaging to my students. Kathleen Bicio, 3rd grade teacher
